Hello, I’m an Elementary PDPP Teacher candidate embarking on a learning journey about learning. I love nature, art, theatre, and making things. It has been a long and winding road to get to teacher education, but I am so excited to be here.

I am really intrigued and excited by the open and flexible nature of this course. It is a breath of fresh air from essays and deadline drudgery that consumes most of university life. It all ends up feeling like hoop jumping. I know how to hoop jump…. and I’m pretty good at it in fact…. but it is great to be able to actually pursue interests and create. I like to think I am somewhat capable with technology, but I definitely have lots to learn. I’ve always wanted to learn about coding and so glad that we will get a chance to!

I really enjoyed watching the movie, ‘Most Likely to Succeed’. It hit so many great points about the evolution society has undergone from needing to acquire academic content, to needing to be able to critically and creatively use academic content that is readily available. I loved to project-based nature of High Tech High. It is so important to make things and create hands on learning activities. It fires up my brain!

For my inquiry project I’m wanting to make something that I’ve always wanted to try make: A quilt!
